How to deal with evils activities such as prostitution, gambling, alcoholism, drug addiction and so on in an Islamic country? What are the guidelines? How to eradicate these evils activities? Some Muslims are in the opinion that no evils activities should exist in Muslims countries. They are in the opinion that all evil activities are to be banned completely and immediately in Muslim countries. When those Muslims are in power, they will decree orders to close immediately all premises, which operate evils activities and will withdraw all licenses or permits, which allow such premises to operate. When they are in power, according to these Muslims, these are the only methods to be used to prevent evils. Is it true what they have done is the correct way to prevent evils with power? Is it true what they have done was also done by our Prophet Muhammad saw? One classical example to demonstrate on how these Muslims are eradicating evils practices with power, are shown by the actions of Taliban. Everyone knows who the Taliban are and what they did when they were in power in Afghanistan. Taliban believe many evils actions eminate or come from women and to them, women are the sources of many evils. According to Taliban, when women are allowed to go out and work, evils practices will increase. In order to prevent evils practices, women in Afghanistan were not allowed to work. Similarly according to the Taliban when women are allowed to go out of their homes without wearing purdah, women will seduce men into evil actions and in order to prevent evils, during the time of the Taliban, women in Afghanistan, when they were outside their homes were made compulsory to wear purdah with their faces completely covered. Taliban does not allow their girls and women to go to schools, colleges or universities and become educated as, to the Taliban educated women will be able to work outside their homes and to them, working women are the sources of many evils. The underlying principle of conventional banking system is to make more money and not to make more good actions. However the underlying principle of a true Islamic banking system is to make more good actions than to make more money. Allah loves good actions and not money and similarly all believers love good actions and not money. All the non-Muslims and Muslims who have not become believers also love money and love to make more money. However the underlying principle of true Islamic banking system is to have more good actions than to have more money. True Islamic banks must be established in order to help both Muslims and non-Muslims to have their needs fulfilled and not to make more money out of the weakness of others. Islamic banks should be doing more good actions than to make more money. By lowering the profit margin to the maximum of 10% of the cost price, Islamic banks will be able to help many peoples to obtain their needs. Allah loves those who help others and Allah does not love those who exploit others. Because of this, Allah has forbidden any form of riba or interest in our business transaction. With the involvement of riba or interest in our business transaction the rich will exploit the poor and the needy. In the societies that practice riba or interest the rich become richer and the poor become poorer. (more…)

Basically the industry of banking arises out of men’s desire to protect and safeguard their money. When men have acquired so much money in cash, it is a natural desire of men to protect the money. It was a practice in olden days, in order to protect their money; they deposited their money with someone they trusted. The work of the trustworthy man was only to keep the money and whenever those men, wanted their money back, the money was always available. In other words banking system had been existed for a very long time. It had existed even at the time of Prophet Muhammad saw. During the time of Prophet saw, many peoples kept their money and other valuables with the Prophet Muhammad saw. At that time, Prophet saw was regarded as the most trustworthy person in Mecca. Beside Prophet Muhammad saw saw, there are few others, whom the peoples trusted and deposited their money and valuables to. At the same times in Mecca, there are also many Jews and Arabs, who were doing business on money lending. With a certain amount of money they give loan to others and they will charge a certain amount of interest. They were known at that time as money lenders. Money lenders are persons who want to make more money out of their money. They lend their money to the poor persons who are in need of money and they charge interest or riba on whatever amount of money they lended to others. In this way these money lenders will make more money, out of their money. During the time of Prophet Muhammad saw, the money lenders were mostly the Jews and because of money lending business, many of the Jews who lived in Mecca and Medina were very rich. (more…)

Ulama are a name given to a person who out of love towards Allah, have so much fear of Allah in their hearts. The fear of Allah that ulama have is not the same as the fear we have toward some animals. Some children may have the fear toward ghosts or policeman but the fear of Allah that ulama have eminates out of their love toward Allah. Ulama out of their love toward Allah would obey all the orders of Allah. Ulama fear the displeasure of Allah on them. Allah will become displeased with them when they disobey the orders of Allah. Ulama fear the displeasure of Allah toward them and the fear eminates out of their love towards Allah. Ulama are persons who, out of love and fear of Allah, obey all the orders of Allah at all times and conditions. Ulama are persons who love Allah and Allah loves them. Because Allah loves ulama, Allah gives the ulama the understanding of the Quran and Hadis. Allah gives ulama the ability to practice all the orders of Allah in the way shown by Prophet Muhammad saw. Prophet Muhammad saw is a person who has the most fear of Allah and has the most correct understanding of the Quran. Prophet Muhammad saw is a person who has the most fear of Allah and having the utmost ability to practice all the orders of Allah. Prophet Muhammad saw is the greatest ulama at all time. Ulama is a description of one of the most important quality that a person should have; the quality of fear of Allah. Whoever have those quality in their heart are called ulama. Who gives the quality of ulama to a person? There is no one who can gives the quality of ulama except Allah and Allah gives the quality of ulama to those whom He loves and the person whom Allah loves are those who follow the Prophet Muhammad saw and his companions. Can an Islamic university or a madrasah give a person the name ulama? Can we call those who graduated in Islamic studies from the universities or madrasah, ulama? Islamic university or madrasah can gives Islamic knowledge but not the quality of the fear of Allah. (more…)

Bribery or in malay rasuah is a rampant activities in many countries, either Muslims or non-Muslim countries. In some countries the activities of bribery or rasuah has become a way of life. Bribery in those countries has become so common, to the extent; it is no longer regarded as evil. In order for any applications to the government to be processed promptly, in those countries rampant with bribery, a person must give bribes. Most governments in those countries were trying to curb bribery but without much success. Most governments know, bribery is endangering the very survival of their nations. When bribery is not eradicated, many are able to do illegal activities or activities without observing standard procedures. Foreign investors would not like to invest in those countries where bribery is a way of life because it is unprofitable to invest in those countries. It is unprofitable because in such countries, business activities will not comply with procedures of international standard making the qualities of product to decreased and become unmarketable. In countries rampant with bribery, the rich will be able to run away from procedures by giving bribe. The most eligible persons may be deprived of many opportunities because they could not give bribe, because they are poor. On the other hand, the least eligible persons can have many opportunities because they are rich and can give bribe. In countries rampant with bribery, the poor becomes poorer and the rich becomes richer. (more…)
DEGRADATION OF MUSLIMS: HOW, WHY AND THE MEDICINE – BAGAIMANA DAN KENAPA UMAT ISLAM HANCUR

Why Muslims became degraded after the demise of Prophet Muhammad saw? A question that is all Muslims should ask. We have to know the reasons why Muslims have become degraded and once we know the reasons then only it would be easier for us to find the medicine. What is the medicine to be implemented in order to cure the problem of Muslims? As for an example a patient is presenting to a doctor a series of symptoms and after analyzing the symptoms, the doctor concludes that a disease has infected the patient. In order to cure the disease and to eliminate the symptoms the doctors need to know the causes of the diseases. Once the doctor knows the causes of the diseases, only then a correct medicine could be given to the patient and with the permission of Allah, the patient could be cured from the disease. Doctors cannot cure a disease unless the doctors know the causes of that disease. However, there are diseases that doctors could not find medicines to cure. Why doctors could not find medicines to cure the diseases? Medicines to cure the diseases could not be found because the causes of the disease are still unknown. (more…)
